Stephenie Meyer, Facebook and Lionsgate have partnered to create 5 new
Twilight films. The potential plots for the next 5 films have been listed on a
website for public voting on which plots to use.
Some of the plots are repeats of character bios that Stephenie Meyer had
already written, but other storylines show new aspects of the characters.
Summary of Some of the storylines:
Alice sees the future, where her escape from the mental institute will
result in the death of a guard. She has only moments before they will give her
electroshock therapy. Will she escape, causing the guard's death?
Jasper and Alice meet and talk in the same diner, over the years, getting to
know each other better and better. Clothing changes show the passing of time.
A pregnant Esme escapes from her abusive husband, only to attempt suicide
after the death of her child. Carlisle Cullen saves her.
As human Emmett Cullen is dying, he has a flashback to his life, and the
three women he almost loved, and how he lost them. Emmett believes an angel is
taking him to heaven (which we know is vampire Rosalie Cullen saving Emmett).
While courting his future wife Sulpicia, Volturi Aro tries to touch her to
read her mind. Sulpicia is a proper lady, and refuses. Aro gets comedic advice from Volturi Marcus and Caius.
In Yorktown, 1781, Carlisle Cullen treats an injured soldier. Vampire
Garrett arrives on the scene, surprising Carlisle with his restraint in not
biting the victim. "He's my brother," replies Garrett. They work
together, barely saving Garrett's brother.
Kristen Stewart, Stephenie Meyer,
"Twilight" director Catherine Hardwicke, actor Kate Winslet,
and "Frozen" director Jennifer Lee will be on a panel of judges to pick five woman
screenwriters and directors to make the films. Women in Film is co-sponsoring the project. The short Twilight films will be
released on Facebook in 2015.
Phase one of the Twilight project involved the public voting on the top ten characters to be protagonists for the new films. Alice Cullen was the top pick.
Phase two was screenplay outlines being accepted from the public.
The film project, New Voices of the Twilight Saga, now moves onto the screenplay outline public voting phase.
