You can write the screenplay for the next official Twilight Movie. Stephenie Meyer and Lionsgate have
partnered with Facebook to release five short Twilight Films: "The
Storytellers: New Creative Voices of the Twilight Saga". Current awards payments for filmmakers and screenwriters are $425,000 and a free car.
Kristen Stewart, Stephenie Meyer,
"Twilight" director Catherine Hardwicke, actor Kate Winslet,
and "Frozen" director Jennifer Lee will be on a panel of judges to pick five woman
screenwriters and directors to make the films.
The films will take place in the
Twilight universe, with Twilight characters. Lionsgate said it will fund a
"significant" amount of money on the short films.
Even if you are not picked to write the screenplay or direct a Twilight film, you can still submit a "wildcard film".
The short Twilight films will be
released on Facebook in 2015. "We think Facebook is a great way for us to
introduce the world of "Twilight" to a whole new audience while
re-energizing existing fans," said Burns of Lionsgate.
Women in Film organization is
supporting the Twilight short films. "The female voice is something that
has become more and more important to me as I've worked in the film
industry," Stephenie Meyer said.
Phase one of the Twilight project involved the public voting on the top ten characters to be protagonists for the new films. The voting for most popular characters for the new Twilight Films is
over. Alice Cullen was the top pick.
The film project, New Voices of the
Twilight Saga, now moves onto the screenplay outline phase. Outlines will be accepted from the public
if they are 13 years and older and female. The screenplay outlines must
include as the main protagonist one of the following characters:

Carlisle Cullen
Emmett Cullen
Esme Cullen

Victoria (James' vampire partner)
Source material for the films will be "The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide", which details character histories.
