Kristen Stewart and Stephanie Meyer are recruiting women filmmakers and scriptwriters to create up to 6 new Twilight films. Lionsgate, Volvo and Facebook are supporting the project. A grandprize winner will receive $100,000 dollars and a new Volvo car.
The project entitled, "The Storytellers New Voices of the Twilight Saga", is to create 6 short films The project is in several phases. Phase 1 is for public vote on which characters to portray for the Twilight Saga. The top 10 characters will be used for the films.
Phase 2 is for a 500 word film proposal. Winners of that round can go onto Phase 3, the scriptwriting phase. Phase 4 is for filmmakers to pitch themselves as possible directors for the pictures. In Phase 5 the directors will create their original Twilight films.
All women filmmakers are invited to create a wildcard submission of their film, even if they were not picked in the earlier phases.
